Press Release: A Few Games That Will Get You Into Cryptocurrency Even More

Gaming is now an integral part of most peoples’ every day lives and with the advancement in technology, the gaming choices and the number of platforms we have on offer to game on has grown rapidly.

With the advancement in technology, we have also seen other forms of gaming come more into the forefront. Mobile phone gaming, for example, has seen a huge boom in recent times with the likes of Pokemon Go, various sites like casino.com which is now available in Ireland and other creations such as FIFA 19 or PUBG Mobile, which have also proved hugely popular.

Console gaming has also grown in popularity – especially with the emergence of esports – as too has the likes of handheld, on-the-go gaming in the form of Nintendo Switch’s and the like. What many people don’t know, though, is that many games are now using cryptocurrency in what is yet another type of gaming that is currently showing real signs of growth.

With many of us keen to get into or use our cryptocurrency in different ways, gaming and blockchain technology is a potential match made in heaven for some. So, with that in mind, here are a few games that are integrating blockchain/DAG and cryptocurrencies into their gameplay.

Cryptokitties – Tradable crypto assets

Cryptokitties is a game where you collect and breed virtual cats, which is perhaps a more up-to-date version of the Tamagotchi. But where does cryptocurrency come into this, you might be thinking? Well, each cat has its own value which can be traded on the Ethereum blockchain for real money. With each cat having its own appearance and the ability to catch up to 4 billion different looking cats, there’s plenty of potential in this game. For example, a kitty was recently auctioned for $140,000. With all payments and auctions on this game made using the hugely popular Ethereum, this is a creation well worth giving a go.

Beyond the Void – In-game cryptocurrency economy

Beyond the Void is an all out, crypto-powered in-game economy. The game gives players the chance to play via the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. What’s great about this particular game is that the in-game economy is based on a cryptocurrency token called Nexium, which alongside the fact that you really own the items you purchase as all the items you buy are registered on the blockchain, makes this a particularly appealing creation to some. Various spaceships and the like are now existing outside of the game in the marketplace.

Based on the iconic game of Monopoly, Worldopoly is high on features and possesses a great deal. With the likes of augmented reality, world building, MMORPG, gameplay, geopositioning, blockchain assets and DAG, this multiplayer mobile game really does have it all. Imagine a time where the world was a Monopoly board which you could see through your mobile phone’s camera, with the option of buying streets and buildings too. Now, with that in mind, imagine if you could sell off those streets and buildings for cryptocurrency worth real money.

Spells of Genesis – Playable crypto assets

A mobile magic card game, Spells of Genesis is a game in which you can store the cards you collect on the blockchain. Similar to Cryptokitties, cards can be used in various different ways, such as to battle and improve various elements like spells, speed, health and rarity. Using the Counterparty platform, the blockchain cards usually use Bitcoin, meaning you can also trade them in and outside of the game using an app called Book of Orbs.
