Cardano [ADA] tying all loose ends: Fixes, improvements and other updates

On 23rd August, the Cardano weekly technical report was released by InputOutput [IOHK] wherein the team further updated the community on several aspects. The report contained progress on the Daedalus Wallet, its backend, networking, devops, Goguen and Cardano decentralization.

Goguen is one of the three subsequent phases that Cardano is known to bring in the future. The project aims at implementing a virtual machine and language for Cardano. According to this week’s progress report, a new specialist has been hired to join the Marlowe and Plutus team to work on wallet integration, CI and K/IELE.

Marlowe and Plutus are the two programming languages under construction by the Cardano team for blockchain. The Marlowe team is working towards solving the purpose of financial transactions while Plutus is specifically being built to write smart contracts. Furthermore, the report conveyed:

“The Marlowe team has now optimized their processes and is using company standard for work tracking.”

Under the weekly updates on Daedalus Wallet, an error regarding the launch of Daedalus Wallet when users opted for the ‘Pin to taskbar’ option on Windows, was fixed, implemented and tested. As in the last week, the Cardano team continues to work towards integrating V1 Cardano wallet API with a few more API left to be worked with.

As for the backend of the wallet, the team updated and optimized the code and carried forward the testing. Several members also took the task of bringing improvements in restoration, recovering accounts, per-account balances and more.

They have also created a document titled ‘Wallet Spec ~ Code’, which is meant to outline the specification types of the wallet and details on the relation between codebase and spec, among other things.

In networking, the design assumptions for Delta Q Measurements Design have been validated by the team. This has been done via real-world experiments involving cloud computing data centers around the world.

A Twitter handle named Jötunn, which calls itself ‘Bare Metal Cardano Staking Pool’, inquired:

“Any chance the Delta-Q Measurements are publicly available?”

ZoeHess, a Reddit user and Cardano follower, commented:

“here is a company showing all others what transparency really is :)”

Another Redditor and crypto-follower, Gabbysolo, also wrote:

“Nice job team. Keep it up. We really believe in you guys to deliver.Nice job team. Keep it up. We really believe in you guys to deliver.”
